The resort area itself is a treat for eyes because it is the only hotel on the island. Since the Island is isolated & so exclusive You can relax on the artificial beach, go out for a jogging along the coast & Bird Watchers can take a boat or just swim to the Bird's Island nearby.

WILD LIFE SANCTUARY (3 KM)

While staying at Jaisamand Island Resort, trips are made to the famous Wild Life Game Sanctuary. There are around eleven islands in the lake which are frequented by various species of migratory birds. Here you can find some rare Birds & some wild life too, like Panther, Wild Bear, Deer, Samber etc.

VILLAGE LIFE

While staying at Jaisamand you can see the village life in & around the Island personally. You can see small village houses scattered around the lake & the people are very friendly.

JAGAT TEMPLE (20 KM)

The temple of Jagat is dedicated to the deity Ambika Mata. It dates back to 10th century. The carvings & sculptures are a piece of rare art. The temple has a touch of Khajuraho style sculptures. temple is just 20 k.m. from the Jaisamand lake.

SHREENATH JI - NATHDWARA (98 KM)

Nathdwara lies 48 kms from Udaipur and literally means the gateway to the Lord. This great Vaishnavite shrine was built in the 17th century on spot exactly defined by the Lord himself. The legends have it that the image of the Lord Krishna was being transferred to safer place from Vrindaban to protect it from the destructive wrath of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The image when it reached the spot it vehicle the bullock carts wheel sank axel deep in mud and refused to move further. The accompanying priest realised that this was lord's chose spot and the image did not want to travel any further. Accordingly a Temple was built here.

A JAIN PILGRIMAGE (40 KM)

Lord Mahavira is the founder of Jain faith & Rishabhdeo ji is believed to be one of his incarnations. The said idol of Rishabdeo ji is 3 ft. high carved in black marble. The temple was built in the 15th century.

CHAVAND (15 KM)

CHAVAND is the place where Maharana Pratap spent his last 10 years. There is a temple dedicated to goddess Chavand ji. The area is inhabited by Bheel Tribals who aided Maharana in his battles. In 1597 Maharana Pratap suffered internal injury while he was hunting & it was here that the great rajput warrior died.

A cenotaph here is dedicated to this great lover of motherland.
